The 19-year-old actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night just in time to celebrate the news of Modern Family being renewed for two more seasons. She spoke with Jimmy Kimmel about her career aspirations of becoming a lawyer as a backup plan to acting and what it’s like to live with her 29-year-old boyfriend in the house that she bought last year.
“My boyfriend and I live together he cooks [and] takes care of all the handy stuff,” she told Kimmel. “I can bake pie occasionally — pumpkin and apple.”
Winter has her sights set on studying political science at UCLA in hopes of entering law in the future.
“I wouldn’t give up acting,” said Winter. “I love being an actress. I think it’s great, but I definitely want to have another skill, you know, because, I could work today and then never work a day in my life.”
The actress advocates for herself as someone who as “good at arguing,” which will help her in the courtroom.
“Like I said,” she added, “I could be an actress today and then never get another role again in my life, and as long as I have a backup plan, then I’ll be set.”
