"He never got to say goodbye to her"
It’s been an emotional year for Teresa Giudice. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has been dealing with her grief over the death of her mother, who passed away last March after a battle with pneumonia. Though it’s been over a year, the reality TV star is still seeking closure, recently making an appearance on E!’s Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry looking for help.
While the reading was just as emotional as you would expect for a woman trying to contact her late mother, it did allow the Bravo mom to get a few things off her chest as she mades a heartbreaking confession about her family.
Gone But Not Forgotten
There’s no denying that Teresa Giudice has had a difficult year.
The The Real Housewives of New Jersey has been caring for her children alone ever since husband Joe Giudice started serving his 41-month jail sentence for fraud, but her life was turned upside down when her 66-year-old mother, Antonia Gorga, passed away last spring after a battle with pneumonia.
While it’s been over a year since her mom’s death, Teresa is still looking for closure. As evidence on her latest appearance on E!’s Hollywood Medium, the wounds are still fresh for the mother-of-four as she finds answers from beyond the grave with clairvoyant Tyler Henry.
A Love Story That Ends in Tears
“She’s putting a lot of emphasis on the release of guilt around your father, really heavily,” Tyler told the 45-year-old in a sneak peak for Wedneday’s episode.
Teresa revealed that her father, Giacinto Gorga, still feels guilty about the loss as “he never got to say goodbye to her.”
The Skinny Italian author went on to explain that her father was already in the hospital when her mother became sick and the two ended up in different medical facilities.
The RHONJ mainstay continued, saying that she believed her mother “knew she was going to leave, and she didn’t want my dad to see her. It was a very hard day.”
She added that she initially hadn’t planned on telling her father about her mother going to the hospital to avoid upsetting him, but the patriarch knew the when she showed up to his hospital room with her brother, Joe Gorga.
“I figured when they got better, they were going to see each other, you know? So my dad never got to say goodbye to her, and then it’s like, I had to tell my father. It was so hard,” she said during the emotional reading.
“I Need My Mom”
As fans know, this wasn’t the first time that Teresa spoke out on her mother’s difficult death. In the Season 8 premiere of RHONJ, the star shared a heartfelt letter she had written to her late mother.
“Mommy I love you more than life, I miss you so much. I can’t believe you’re not here anymore with me,” Teresa said during the episode, before breaking down into tears. “Daddy misses you so much. My daughters miss you, and we think about you every second of the day.”
She revealed later in the episode that raising her daughters — Gia, Gabrielle, Milania, and Audriana — would be more difficult without the woman who raised her by side.
“I need my mom,” the cookbook author said, adding how she was able to reflect on the months she lost with Antonia while she was in prison.
